Transport Policy
Why do we have a transport policy? The reason is that
the development team are committed to the principles
of sustainable development. As stated in our printed
Environmental Policy:
"Our aim is to reduce adverse
environmental impacts to a minimum by good management
and sound working practices and to achieve continuous
improvement in our environmental performance".
Cambourne Business Park Ltd wholeheartedly supports
the aims of government policy to reduce the dependency
on the car for travel to and from work. We will encourage
companies locating in the Business Park to adopt policies
and initiatives to promote the use of non-car modes
of transport and hence reduce car dependency.
The objectives of our transport policy are:
- To promote a reduction in car usage by providing real alternatives to commuting by car
- To promote accessibility to the Business Park for all people, especially those without a car
- To contribute to the economy of the Business Park and its sustainability
- To encourage safer travel for all
- To enhance the local and surrounding environment
Our transport policy is not anti-car, rather it is
a means of promoting alternatives to commuting to work
as a car driver. Even small changes from individuals
can make a difference. If every car commuter used an
alternative to the car on just one day a week, car usage
levels for commuting would be reduced by up to 20%.
It could also reduce car parking requirements by 20%.
Our policy is an evolving plan - please let us know
if there is
anything you think we should be doing to make a difference.
