THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF ART

Cambourne Business Park and Cambridge Regional College Lecturers, Kevin McGarry and Martha Harris have organised an art exhibition at the Business Park.

A private viewing was held on Thursday 3 April and was attended by many Cambourne residents together with Cambridge Regional College and APU staff, business people and local gallery representatives.

Peter Jarman, director of the Business Park's art policy, was very pleased by the enthusiastic reaction of those attending the viewing. He said ‘We at Cambourne are continuously seeking ways in which we can combine a wider appreciation of art in the working environment and this exhibition marks the start of a significant arts programme that will be coming forward this year, it has been a great success'.

The exhibition, entitled ‘Interior - Exterior', presents digital images produced from photographs taken by Kevin over the last 3-4 years whilst cycling around the world. Martha's work depicts secrets of the interiors of buildings scattered around the south-east of England. Kevin has recently sold one of his digital images at Christies in London for £400.

"This show is a collaborative effort to bring art pieces into a public arena. We aim to give local people an opportunity to appreciate work that would normally exist in a gallery setting." says Martha, who is the course tutor for the CRC and APU collaborative BA/HND in Graphic Design at CRCs Academy of Art.

“This is a great opportunity for me to share images of my experiences from travelling the world with fellow Cambourne residents and a chance for them to have a look around the highly acclaimed building itself.” Says Kevin. The images will be on show throughout April.
