Business Park supports fundraising Campaign
24 Jan 2005
Cambourne Business Park is sponsoring the official launch this week (20 January) of the campaign to raise £3.5 million for a new Church Centre for Cambourne. The launch is being hosted by Councillor Daphne Spink at South Cambridgeshire District Council’s new headquarters building at Cambourne Business Park.
“We are sponsoring the launch event of this important fund raising campaign as we aim to support every project that promotes the growth and development of Cambourne, making it a better place to live and work. The planned church centre with its high quality facilities for community use will no doubt be welcomed and widely used by both Cambourne residents and business park occupiers,” explains Simon Hesketh of Development Securities, joint developer of Cambourne Business Park.
The fund raising campaign has been masterminded by Churches Together in Cambourne, a partnership of the Anglican, Baptist, Methodist, United Reformed and Roman Catholic Churches. The proposed church centre will be built on a site on High Street and will have a meeting hall that seats over 150 people. It will also have crèche space, space for worship and fellowship, rooms for refreshments and recreation and an ‘open all hours’ chapel.
