Photography competition reveals local talent

18 Jul 2007

“We have been really thrilled with the number and quality of the entries to this year’s Cambourne Business Park photographic competition,” says Lesley Scobell, Marketing Co-ordinator at Cambourne Business Park.

“We were particularly pleased that so many people from the Cambourne villages took part and we have certainly found it hard to choose the winners!”
The first prize winner in the adult category was Graham Wright, who works on the Park at Melles Griot, for his picture ‘Reflections at Dusk’. The runner up was Shirley Kevern with her shot entitled ‘Business Highlights’. In the 16 and under category, the winner was Chris Dancy, aged 13, for his shot of the South Cambridgeshire District Council building and runner up was Sarah Mallinson, aged 14, for her photo entitled ‘Reflection of Trees’.
Graham Wright was delighted to be a winner. “I must say that entering this competition for the last two years has made me look at Cambourne Business Park in a new way and I have very much enjoyed it,” he commented.
Graham has won a Canon EOS 400D digital SLR camera worth more than £500 and Chris Dancy will receive a Fujifilm Finepix A800 Digital Camera plus a HP Photosmart A516 Compact Photo Printer. Runners up in both categories will also receive digital cameras.
“We were impressed not only by the high standard of the entries we received, but also by the amazing diversity of views of the park and the landscape. Entrants have been so imaginative and really highlighted the beauty of the award-winning built environment we have at Cambourne Business Park,” says Julian Cobourne.
